Designed truck experiences, features and services in the UX design team at the 'Halle de design' for the Renault Trucks T, C & K Design.

Overview

Essential performance, honest progression and everyday conviviality is the DNA of Renault Trucks - Volvo Group. A multi-disciplinary design team works at the Hall of design, Lyon and I had a chance to be a part of it - to cover a huge span of creativity and potential solutions both long term and short term. Being a UX designer here, I have had the opportunity to design for the diesel trucks (T, C, K), electric battery vehicle, a future unified cab, the next key fob experience, an autonomous VR truck navigation, and others with a team of UX/UI and industrial designers, digital modellers, VR experts, developers and engineers.

Frederic Celle (The team manager) selected a perfectly balanced team with an accumulation of various talents - Visual designers, automator, managers, iconographists, graphists, user researcher, figma experts, and more.

My time here

During my time at Renault Trucks, I had the opportunity to contribute to several key projects in the field of automotive design and grow tremendously. Some of my achievements were:

• Implementing design to interfaces : One of my notable accomplishments was my involvement in the design and development of the P2763 diesel truck, the Battery Electric Vehicle project and a future truck - unified cab between all Volvo brands. With these initiatives, I had the responsibility of visualizing screens, skinning the visual identity, iconography, designing physical coverings for the truck, aiding in creating a captivating branding video, etc.
• Creating a design system : Majority of my learning took place while understanding the steps to reach a well organised design system, from inspiration, documentation, guidelines, visual understanding of the brand to creating the typography, balanced colours and a list of components.
• User research, Analysis and Testing : For projects like the future of keyfob and the next VR experience with trucks, we had the opportunity to deal with users like drivers and fleet manager, analyse their problematics and follow UX methods to nudge in ideas.
• Sketching and digital visuals : As I am a big fan a sketching, I sometimes used my skills to communicate the ideas of the team to others.
